Group Randomizer

A group randomizer for Lohit Club (Suksa Circles)

How to use it

1. Input Format. This web only accept file in .xlsx (excel) format with the following conditions:
   • There is a sheet named database with headers in the first row, please note that the order of columns must be as follows:
     • A: Name(ชื่อ)
     • B: Gender(เพศ)
     • C: Faculty(คณะ)
     • D: Faculty Category(สาย) ระหว่าง วิทย์ หรือ ศิลป์
     • E: Year(ชั้นปี)
     • F: Team(โครง)
     • G: Group(บ้าน)
     • H: เก่า หรือ ใหม่ (New or Old)
   • An example input should be like this file or the below image or this .xlsx file
     
2. Select the number of groups and days.
   • The number of groups are mandated to be prime numbers due to Technical conditions.
   • The number of days are any integer from 1 to (the number of groups - 1). i.e. If the number of group is 13, then the maximum number of days is 12.
3. Checkbox has an option:
   • Enable Forbidden Pairs - check this to add forbidden pairs to the randomized groups. (See below for more information)
4. Click the Generate button, this web will be navigated to the result page to see the random groups.
5. On the result page:
   • The top right number input box can be set to change the number of groups shown for each row.
   • Checkbox Show Details shows the members’ details except for their names.
   • The days are separated into the pagination.
   • In case we want to swap any two members (from different groups on the same day), select 1st member and then select 2nd member (the system will show only swappable members with the first member), and click Swap to swap those two members. The swappable pairs can be seen from the Show swappable pairs button.
   • Click Generate to download the result file (.xlsx file).
6. If we already have a result and want to adjust the groups, go to the result page and upload the result file (.xlsx file) to continue adjusting the groups before downloading again.

Forbidden Pairs

• It is not guaranteed that all of the forbidden pairs will not be in the same group. The algorithm will try to avoid the pairs that are on the top of the forbidden-pairs input list first. (If you do not want person A and B in the same group more than person C and D. Then, put pairs A and B on top of the list.)
• Forbidden pairs are pairs of members that should not be in the same group.
• Example input of forbidden pairs should be in the sheet named forbidden_pairs like below image:

Developing

Once you’ve created a project and installed dependencies with npm install (or pnpm install or yarn), start a development server:

npm run dev
